Community Engagement Manager

Summary: A highly collaborative position that works across all DARCC departments reporting directly to the CEO. The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for educating and engaging the public about the issue of sexual assault and DARCC’s response and services. This role builds community awareness and partnerships to ensure broad support for DARCC. This position supervises the volunteer coordinator and is responsible overall for DARCC’s volunteer recruitment and management efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create meaningful community engagement through the following:
    • Key staff member responsible for the oversight of agency communications
      • Social Media
      • Quarterly newsletter
      • Website
      • Consistent brand identity
      • Development of effective collateral materials both printed and digital
    • Key staff member responsible for engaging local groups and businesses through partnerships and third-party events to raise awareness of sexual violence and DARCC services and impact.
    • Schedule and attend various community outreach events to network with community service providers and spread awareness of DARCC’s sexual assault programs and services.
    • Support CEO in effective donor stewardship processes to ensure continued engagement from DARCC supporters
    • Collaborate with CEO and other staff to establish corporate partnerships
    • Supervises the volunteer coordinator and is responsible for DARCC’s overall volunteer recruitment and management efforts.
  • Responsible for soliciting and tracking in-kind donations in collaboration with Director of Finance
  • Attend DARCC Sexual Assault Training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

*Due to the pandemic, and in accordance with state and city regulations, DARCC has been providing services remotely since March 16th, 2020.  All staff continue to work from home, and we regularly assess the necessity and effectiveness of this arrangement.  For the safety of our counselors and clients, we are currently conducting all sessions through the online platform Zoom.  It is most likely that we will continue virtual counseling through the end of the year.  All applicants must be able to ensure privacy, professionalism, and internet connectivity from their homes, to the best of their abilities.  (DARCC issues laptops to all employees.) 

Volunteer Coordinator

Summary: Responsible for overseeing all Volunteer activities within the organization and collaborates with other community agencies and service providers. Their duties include interviewing and hiring Volunteers, placing Volunteers in different roles based on their qualifications, and maintaining accurate Volunteer records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, retains, supports and develops DARCC volunteers for all program and administrative needs.
  • Planning and organizing events, including volunteer appreciation and community outreach; planning, purchasing supplies, promoting events, scheduling and being the primary point of contact for the event.
  • Ensures that DARCC has a volunteer presence in the community and volunteers provide effective, client-centered services
  • Responsible for soliciting in-kind donations and tracking in-kind donations
  • Manage formal volunteer communication.
  • Develop and implement a recruitment and retention plan for volunteers.
  • Provides participation and financial records in order to submit grant and financial reports.
  • Represents the agency in association with other agencies, at volunteer events, at fundraising events, and with donors at the direction of the Community Engagement Manager.
  • Provide hospital accompaniment and crisis hotline support as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Interviews, selects and evaluates the annual performance of volunteers.
  • Supervises volunteers in conjunction with program leads in order to best serve clients and ensuring complete records.

On Call Staff Advocate

Summary: The purpose of the On-Call Staff Advocate is to ensure that the needs of DARCC Clients are served in a timely, efficient manner.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for answering crisis calls on the 24 hour crisis line.
  • Responsible for providing hospital accompaniment at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas for any victim who presents for a SANE exam.
  • Responsible for completing all required documentation of services provided and hours worked.
  • Responsible for assisting volunteers with questions and/or concerns during their volunteer shifts.
  • Responsible for submitting timesheet on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Responsible for staying in communication with Director of Advocacy Services, attending mandatory meetings, and participate in being a mentor to upcoming training classes.
  • Responsible for participating in on-going continued education.
