Counseling

Trauma can leave you feeling isolated, but you don’t have to be alone. DARCC offers short and long-term individual counseling, and therapeutic groups. All staff counselors are fully licensed by the state of Texas or under the supervision of licensed staff. If you are interested in accessing our free, bilingual counseling services please call 214-712-4901 Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

After hours, you can reach us on our 24/7 Crisis Hotline at 972-641-7273 Please provide an advocate your name, phone number, and age. At that time, our advocate will pass along your information to our clinical team who will follow-up with you in 2-3 business days.

Walk In Crisis Intervention

Crisis intervention and advocacy are available on a walk-in basis at our clinical office during regular business hours, Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

Therapuetic Groups

Survivor Support Group – Mondays at Noon

Survivor Support Group is available for survivors that have already completed individual therapy. This group is member-led, the purpose of the group is to be able to provide a space where members can relate to others with similar experiences and decrease feelings of being isolated, judged, or misunderstood. The group strives to improve coping skills that the members already have, and encourages members to share these skills with each other. Support Group for Secondary Survivors of Sexual Violence – Wednesdays at 4 pm

This is a group for loved ones of those who have experienced sexual violence such as family members, significant others, friends, and other supportive people in a survivor’s life. Group members may have also experienced their own form of sexual trauma in their lifetime, but the focus in this group will be on how to cope with and support others who have been affected by sexual violence. Habilidades Para Lidiar – Lunes al mediodía

Este grupo brinda apoyo a través de la enseñanza de prácticas saludables de afrontamiento y autocuidado. Este grupo no está destinado a que los participantes compartan sus historias o procesen el trauma. Estamos aquí para compartir formas de lidiar con las secuelas de un evento sexualmente traumático que incluye, entre otros, depresión, ansiedad, ira y culpa. Coping Skills – Fridays at Noon

This group provides support through teaching of healthy coping and self-care practices. This group is not intended for participants to share their stories or process trauma. We are here to share ways of coping with the after-effects of a sexually traumatic event including but not limited to depression, anxiety, anger, and guilt.
